Welcome week, as fun as it was, is over and I'm so glad because I am exhausted from it! Who knew meeting so many people was that tiring lol? Alright I'll give you a quick summary of these past few days..
Thursday, arrived in Indy. Friday, moved some stuff in since Camille was all moved in already. Saturday was the big move in day, it took approximately 4 extremely hot hours to move in and organize everything. Said goodbye to the family, which was hard even if it does feel good to live on my own (well sorta on my own). Later on we did an activity called "The Quest", only important thing you need to know is.. RONALD NORED, he was the announcer and that is when my love for him began :). Sunday more welcome week= ice breaker after ice breaker after ice breaker. We took our
awesome class photo, if you have not seen it this is the video of us making it...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDHByizOQzw&feature=youtu.be . After that we had "a rave" which was really kinda dumb, and not a rave at all. Monday we had our "Academic Welcome Day" which basically means a whole day hearing about academic... crap. Oh and we met the author of the book we had to read over the summer, she was a lot more interesting in person, but she's still weird. Then we had this super fun activity called "Playfair" where you do abnormal ice breakers in physical activity ways.. likeeee screaming at people or hugging everyone in a blue shirt and any other odd thing you can think of, but I liked it a lot (even if I won't remember anyones name)! This then led into the jumping in to the star fountain.. So this fountain, I guess it's tradition to jump into it sometime before you graduate from Butler, Emily and I decided to jump in it right off the bat, I mean what the hell, right? So we jumped in.. with... RONALD NORED!! No big deal or anything, I just died inside, but ya know.. lol (BTW if you don't know who that is; a. shame on you! and b. he's one of the star bball players for Butler). SO that was definitely the highlight of my
day week. Oh and during Playfair I got to introduce myself and talk to him! :D. Then we had an ice cream social and thennn they had a casino night, which was fun :). Tuesday I did a program called BITS (Bulldogs In The Streets) which I ended up sorting through boxes of (hopefully cleaned) underwear at St. Vincent De Paul. It was... interesting, specially since the building (and lady there) were creepy and ghetto (the building not the lady), or should I say 'janky'.. and people think I have weird words for things... (janky=ghetto in Indiana). Which brings me to that, Indiana people have major southern accents, it's weird. They laugh at how I say things but they're just jealous ;). ALSO one thing that drives me
insane here.. the cars don't have license plates on the front! only the backs.. it's sooo annoying, lol I don't know why it just.. is, and I decided to make a spreadsheet of all the states to keep track of which ones are like that cuz two girls here think it's only a Wisconsin thing.. which it's not! Oh I forgot, I think on Monday we went to Target, they shut it down for us from 10-midnight and had like raffles and Minute to Win It games and stuff like that (got to talk to RONALD NORED again :)! ) Uhhhh lets see.. where was I? Oh yeah.. Wednesday was the first day of classes which went really well, I didn't get lost, I love the professors, and the classes I was worried about I'm not anymore. Everything is so laid back here and I absolutely loveeee it! Oh and I had my first skype date that day with the wonderful Becca and Brooke <3 them. Thursday nothing special really happened, at least I can't think of anything right now.. Friday we skipped the drive in movie (which was Fast Five :p) and watched the Colts/Packers preseason game, which I'm sure most of you watched as well. Honestly I was surprised the Colts were ever in the lead considering they are absolute garbage during preseason, but I am extremely glad they signed Kerry Collins and NOT Brett Favre for a backup QB.. I woulda went insane if that was true! Saturday we got to watch a hypnotist hypnotize Butler students. It was sooooo funny!! I think I wanna do it next year, it was really cool! And RONALD NORED was one of the people who got hypnotized.. he took his shirt off... NBD! :D hahah. But really, it was the funniest thing ever! And then we had a new student bonfire/movie (Anchorman ughh) but the s'mores were good :). They also had the high ropes course throughout the day and at night but I didn't do it. Uhm yesterday (Sunday) was a major study day and we did a scavenger hunt for our dorm (find out the winners tonight), pretty sure I probably kissed like everything here at Butler lol (bonus points if you kissed something in the picture) but it's worth it cuz the winners get their unit t-shirt for free. I also got a late night (early morning- 215ish) visit from Gary :) it was nice to see a familiar face, I'm gonna miss him so much while he's in South Carolina :( hopefully he'll be back for christmas.. And now today starts the first full week of classes. So far so good, except for the fact that I accidentally missed my dog walking class :(. Other than that it has been laundry all day. First college laundry experience went as follows (keep in mind I live on the 3rd floor and the laundry is in the basement= 4 flights of stairs) : grabbed my laundry basket and the stuff needed to actually do laundry, half way down I realized I forgot my quarters- had to go back up, got all the way down and realized I grabbed stain remover and not detergent-had to go back up, went back down and started the wash- went back up while I waited for it to get done, went down to put them in the dryer and realized I forgot my quarters- had to go back up, took my laptop with me when I went down the last time while I waited for them do get done drying, and now I'm back up in my dorm. Talk about frustrating lol.
So now that I am done catching you all up on this past week, it's time for me to finish up some homework.
Adios<3
