failure

Alright, I really obviously fail at this whole blog thing... buttttt I'm going to try and start this shiznit back up. Hopefully it will relieve school&life stress. We'll see how this goes.. again.

Wellp, long story short... I am a sophomore! yay! :) annnnd I'm a pi phi! double yay! :)

So basically it's our philanthropy week this week, which means we have an event each day to raise money for our charity (First Book- basically they try to fight illiteracy, kind of a random charity but whateves. haha) So Monday we had a giveback at BRICS which is a really nom nom ice cream place a few minutes away from butler. It was delish :) yesterday we had serenades, which basically means we had to go and sing two songs to each of the frats and listen to their sing back ( minus one house whooo is basically - for all you used to be Greek watchers- the new Kappa Tau of our campus since the one that was legit almost the exact same as Kappa Tau got kicked off campus. boo. ) but the houses that did do a sing back were really cute :) annnnd today we had Pie a Pi Phi, pretty self explanatory- you buy a (or multiple) pie(s) and pie one of us in the face. lol it was really fun and we actually raised ALOT of moohlah. so that was gooood. tomorrow we have Pi Phi Pie Night where we sell slices of pie to anyone that wants one, or more than one. I guess someone thought it was a good idea to only sell peppermint pie? yummmmm? yeah. not. and then friday we are having arrowspike- our main event. We'll be selling lots of food, the frats & sororities are teamed up and are having a volleyball tournament, and then the frats will be doing lip syncs (the best part). lip syncs= the frat guys make up a dance to a mixture of songs and the best one wins. it's hilarious. :)

lets seeee. school is going.... not so swell. I'm struggle bussing in my OChem and Bio classes, weirdly because I feel like I know everything decently well butttt i just suck at taking exams :(. I just finished some worksheets for OChem that are due friday, this is my essay writing break for my GHS essay due... friday (lol) and tomorrow I have to skype a girl from Colombia... for half an hour.... all in spanish.... this is the second time having to do this and it absolutely blows. soooo awkward!

mmmmm. we're preparing for recruitment! which is super exciting because I can not waittttt to get a little! :D right now we are in the process of having all 500 some (!) freshmen/ some sophomores over for meals and try to impress them. so far I think we're doing pretty good. hopefully. the 2 I've had over so far I reallllly like sooo hopefully the rest I'll like to :) my first one was from wisconsin! sheboygan. not a packers fan, she doesn't watch football. lame. AND not my next one but the one after that is ALSO from wisconsin! yayyy! I am in desperate need of another wisconsinite in this house. that is my goal :)

Also! we found out the homecoming theme/ which frat we are paired up with for the parade. the theme is board games and we are paired with the frat across the street, Snu (who has super cute boys heheh :)  )   again, someone thought it was a good idea to pick Jumanji....... yeah, I mean I guess it's original.... but..... STUPID! how the heck do you expect to make a float about JUMANJI! ugh so frustrating. we were supposed to get Clue (our first choice, or so I thought) or Mouse Trap.. two games you could do sooooo much with! but no. someone switched our first choice to freaking Jumanji. I'm actually quite angry, specially since we have won lawn decs the past two years... apparently they don't want to keep the streak going.... whatever.

on a happy note...

FALL BREAK IS IN EXACTLY ONE WEEK! woooohhooooo! :) I'm so excited to go homeeee and see my puppys (and family I suppose haha). and do my laundry which is being heavily piled up in my closet. oops.....

okay. that is all. back to my essay. ugh.

Should probably keep this updated.

Alrighty, I'm slacking, sorry! This will just be a quick summary of the past few weeks.

Well I guess I'll start with 2 weeks ago when I went to the Colts game :D. So my friend Ally's uncle has season tickets and gave Ally two and told her to invite anyone she wanted, so she invited me.. for free :D! Before the game he also took us out to eat at PF Changs, it was delicious.. and free. When we were walking from the mall to Lucas Oil, we had to walk through this tunnel thing that was infested with hobos, it was disgusting and reallly creepy! Her aunt, uncle, and their two friends left at half time so we had to walk back by ourselves (it was a night game) so we were freaking out, but someone showed us a tunnel from Lucas Oil back to the mall thank goodness! Plus it was down pouring outside, ick. The game was SUPER fun! Even if we did end up losing :(.
The next day I had my dog walking class and I got attacked by one of the dogs! I literally had bruises all over my legs and arms! I took pictures so sometime I'll have to show whoever wants to see them. They were really bad and are just starting to go away. Mean puppy, she was really cute though :p. Other than that, I loveeee that class! Today I played with a cat that had one eye, she was a sweetheart. Anddd I fell in love with this other dog that liked to sit on my lap :). Rhylee would probably hate me if she knew I was betraying her like this....
This past weekend my two amazing Shopko girls came to visit me! (Kimberly and Ashley) It was so nice to see familiar faces! I really missed them, and I can't wait to go visit everyone else this coming up weekend! While they were here I showed them around campus (they loved it, but who doesn't?), brought them to Boogie Burger (only in Indianapolis, realllly good), uhmm showed them a frat hah, and had much needed bonding time <3. they made me homesick though, :(
After they left, my roommate situation went way downhill. long story short, my roommate is a bitch lol and treats me like I'm a 4 year old visitor in HER room. whatever. I'll go into more detail in person if anyone wants to know, too hard to describe on the computer.
So that's pretty much all that has been going on around here. Campus is getting extra pretty with all the fall colors, but I'm definitely not used to 80 degrees weather in October.. weird.

I'LL BE HOME IN 2 DAYS!! SOOOO EXCITED!! :D

The small town of Rensselaer.

So this past Friday/Saturday I went on a spontaneous trip with Emily to her hometown. It was her homecoming so she wanted to watch the football game and get some homecooked food-finally! So we drove approximately 2 hours to the small town of Rensselaer. If I think of somewhere in Wisconsin I can compare it to, I'll let y'all know. Anyways.. Emily's family owns like 5 businesses, like literally, so they are rich and you can tell as soon as you see their house/yard. It was super nice and huge, but the best part was.... her dog! It was a golden lab and reminded me of Rhylee :( so I decided to substitute Rhylee with Cooper for the day, which sounds terrible but I am like desperate for my puppy! We finally got some home cooked meals, MUCH NEEDED after a month of crappy cafeteria food- all. the. time. yuck. We had potato soup which = scalloped potatoes and ham but in soup form. Update to everyone that isn't my immediate family and doesn't know this- I HATE scalloped potatoes and ham. So I ended up like choking it down :P but it was home cooked soo ehhh I don't know, I guess I can't complain. But I'd much rather have some booyah- which no one down here has heard of, how depressing! Anyways, she drove me around to show me everything in Rensselaer that's worth seeing and then we went to her high school and when school let out we went to go pick her brother up at the middle school. After we picked him up we went to this dairy farm that had amazing ice cream, probably the best ice cream I've ever had! (Don't worry mom all the food that wasn't home cooked was paid for by the lovely Gutweins :) ) Let's see... after that we went to the football game. It made me realize how much I miss high school football, but it also made me realize how much I do NOT miss the high schoolers! Got some good quality sleeping in a comfortable non-dorm bed that night, even if I did have to share it with Emily :P.  The next morning we went to Emily's brother's, Tommy, soccer game and then had lunch at a little mexican restaurant in their town. It was actually really good, I was kind of surprised. Then we headed back to our home away from home- the drive back seemed to go by way faster than the drive to her house. Uhh lets see... after we got back she realized she was unbelievably sick (possibly mono- ahhh hopefully not!). OH!! And one of my friends here got two tickets to the Colts/Steelers game this weekend and she said she remembered how much I love the Colts so she asked me if I wanted to go with her- for FREE!!! AHHH YESS! DUH I wanna go to the Colts game for free!! That's my exciting news of the week :D

Gotta go, Teen Mom's almost on!

This is a long one..

Well I had my first college exam today and I'd say it went pretty well.. I know I for sure got one wrong considering I completely blanked on it but other than that I feel confident about it. :) Oh by the way, it was Chem.. ick! I just got everything done homework wise so I figured it was about time for another blog. Sorry I've been majorly slacking, it's just that there isn't too much exciting stuff going on. I guess I can let you guys in on the roommate drama 2 doors down lol. One of my good friends here, Emily, and her roommate Jasmine (who we also hang out with) have been having some issues lately.. well I guess you can say Jasmine's been having issues with me to, actually the other way around. Okay so this last weekend we (me, Camille, Jasmine, Ashley, and Jasmine's high schooler friend Joe) decided to make a late night Mickey Ds run because we were all starving. We had to take Joe's vehicle because Jasmine's car was too small for all of us and for some reason she ended up driving.
Background info time- Jasmine's from Indianapolis area so she "knows" where things are.. I put quotes because we (me, Emily, and Camille) have come to the conclusion that she really doesn't. She takes us the complete roundabout ways of getting places, for example (one of MANY) Broad Ripple (a little shopping area mainly for college kids) is about 5 mins max driving time from Butler.. one day we went there and it took us almost a half hour to get there! Ughh. Also she JUST got a car so up until like.. last week she's never really gone driving, at least not that I know of and you can definitely tell!

Alright I tried typing this story but it's too hard to do in story form so I'll just give you the dialogue along with side notes..
Jasmine: Do you guys know what time it is? (Hello there's a clock on the dash!)
-someone gave her the time-
Camille: Jasmine, there's a clock right there..
Jasmine: I know but like when I'm driving someone else's car for the first time I can only concentrate on driving and nothing else. (ONE- we were at a stop light when she asked! and TWO- you can't glance in your peripheral vision, really?!)
- we get to Mickey Ds, order our food together considering you can only have one order going through the drive-thru. Me and Camille give our 2 bucks to Jasmine and Ashley gives them a 10 because that's all she had (hers came to like 2 bucks also) and Joe gives Ashley a 5 back, Jasmine's comes to like 4 something...
Me: Jasmine how much did you put in? (asked because Ashley didn't get all her change back)
Jasmine: 2 bucks.. I can put in more if you want (no shit I want you to! Yours was more than 2 bucks! Ashley shouldn't be paying for your chicken nuggets!)
Me: Wasn't yours more than 2?
Jasmine: I think so.
Me: Just get the receipt so we can get it all straight
-blah blah she ended up paying and Ashley got the other 3 bucks back that she was supposed to get. So we go down a back street to leave and there's a taxi stopped at a stop sign approximately.. maybe 20ft ahead of us, Jasmine for some reason isn't slowing down.. at all
(another side note- a few days ago we were all driving in Emily's vehicle and every once in awhile she wouldn't realize either A- it was a red light or B- the vehicle in front of us was stopping, so I would say 'stop' everytime and they all appreciated it considering none of us wanted to die lol.)
So anyways.. she's not slowing down so I say 'stop' (not meanly, just as a reminder so we don't crash into the taxi..) and she completely FREAKS OUT at me! Camille can attest for this- she had absolutely no reason to freak out whatsoever, especially how she did. I was soooo mad and she is soo lucky that I know how to bite my tongue sometimes, otherwise I would've went off on her! So whatever I didn't say anything. (another side note- Jasmine is supposed to be a year younger but she skipped kindergarten. also she always talks to us like she is better than us and its sooooo annoying!) That was my issue with her, oh and also her friend Joe was talking crap about Emily so Camille bitched him out for it hahaha it was fantastic. (Joe= dbag!)

Okay so back to the actual roommate drama.. After that whole incident I told Emily what had happened because she wasn't there and wanted to let her know. So apparently that night (Joe stayed in their room along with two of Emily's friends from HS-Ben and Nick) and Emily was telling Ben about it because she thought everyone else was asleep. Wrong! Joe was listening the whole time and told Jasmine that we have all been talking shit about her (again Joe=dbag considering all we did was tell what happened, it was facts!) so it was a tad awkward in their room after that night. So last night Emily was in our room watching tv with us and what not, when she was leaving her room Jasmine asked her if she had her key with or if she should prop the door and Emily told her no so prop it. Around 11 Emily was going to go in her room and get ready for bed and go to sleep, turns out Jasmine left the room and locked her out! She was soo mad so she called Jasmine and Jasmine tells her she left to go get McDonalds.. (by this time it was around 1130) so she said she'd be on her way back. 1215ish comes around and Jasmine walks into our room and says (all cocky) "Did you want in or what?" worst thing she could possibly of said. By this time Emily was so pissed off- i mean it was past midnight already and she was keeping us up to because she had to wait in our room! It was extremely frustrating. So I guess Emily grabbed her stuff, went in the bathroom to get ready, came back in her room (saw that Jasmine was working on homework), shut the lights off on her and went to bed. I laughed really hard when she told me that- but Jasmine seriously deserved it! I mean who does that?! She knew Emily didn't have her keys and she didn't even bother telling her she was leaving so Em could get them! Common courtesy Jasmine! Ughh. So now it's been EXTREMELY awkward in their room, unfortunately. Emily basically lives with us now haha but we don't mind, or blame her.

So that's about it. We're heading over to Atherton for some supper.
Sorry it's so long :) and I'll try to update this more often!

While I wait for my laundry..

Welcome week, as fun as it was, is over and I'm so glad because I am exhausted from it! Who knew meeting so many people was that tiring lol? Alright I'll give you a quick summary of these past few days..
Thursday, arrived in Indy. Friday, moved some stuff in since Camille was all moved in already. Saturday was the big move in day, it took approximately 4 extremely hot hours to move in and organize everything. Said goodbye to the family, which was hard even if it does feel good to live on my own (well sorta on my own). Later on we did an activity called "The Quest", only important thing you need to know is.. RONALD NORED, he was the announcer and that is when my love for him began :). Sunday more welcome week= ice breaker after ice breaker after ice breaker. We took our awesome class photo, if you have not seen it this is the video of us making it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDHByizOQzw&feature=youtu.be . After that we had "a rave" which was really kinda dumb, and not a rave at all. Monday we had our "Academic Welcome Day" which basically means a whole day hearing about academic... crap. Oh and we met the author of the book we had to read over the summer, she was a lot more interesting in person, but she's still weird. Then we had this super fun activity called "Playfair" where you do abnormal ice breakers in physical activity ways.. likeeee screaming at people or hugging everyone in a blue shirt and any other odd thing you can think of, but I liked it a lot (even if I won't remember anyones name)! This then led into the jumping in to the star fountain.. So this fountain, I guess it's tradition to jump into it sometime before you graduate from Butler, Emily and I decided to jump in it right off the bat, I mean what the hell, right? So we jumped in.. with... RONALD NORED!! No big deal or anything, I just died inside, but ya know.. lol (BTW if you don't know who that is; a. shame on you! and b. he's one of the star bball players for Butler). SO that was definitely the highlight of my day week. Oh and during Playfair I got to introduce myself and talk to him! :D. Then we had an ice cream social and thennn they had a casino night, which was fun :). Tuesday I did a program called BITS (Bulldogs In The Streets) which I ended up sorting through boxes of (hopefully cleaned) underwear at St. Vincent De Paul. It was... interesting, specially since the building (and lady there) were creepy and ghetto (the building not the lady), or should I say 'janky'.. and people think I have weird words for things... (janky=ghetto in Indiana). Which brings me to that, Indiana people have major southern accents, it's weird. They laugh at how I say things but they're just jealous ;). ALSO one thing that drives me insane here.. the cars don't have license plates on the front! only the backs.. it's sooo annoying, lol I don't know why it just.. is, and I decided to make a spreadsheet of all the states to keep track of which ones are like that cuz two girls here think it's only a Wisconsin thing.. which it's not! Oh I forgot, I think on Monday we went to Target, they shut it down for us from 10-midnight and had like raffles and Minute to Win It games and stuff like that (got to talk to RONALD NORED again :)! ) Uhhhh lets see.. where was I? Oh yeah.. Wednesday was the first day of classes which went really well, I didn't get lost, I love the professors, and the classes I was worried about I'm not anymore. Everything is so laid back here and I absolutely loveeee it! Oh and I had my first skype date that day with the wonderful Becca and Brooke <3 them. Thursday nothing special really happened, at least I can't think of anything right now.. Friday we skipped the drive in movie (which was Fast Five :p) and watched the Colts/Packers preseason game, which I'm sure most of you watched as well. Honestly I was surprised the Colts were ever in the lead considering they are absolute garbage during preseason, but I am extremely glad they signed Kerry Collins and NOT Brett Favre for a backup QB.. I woulda went insane if that was true! Saturday we got to watch a hypnotist hypnotize Butler students. It was sooooo funny!! I think I wanna do it next year, it was really cool! And RONALD NORED was one of the people who got hypnotized.. he took his shirt off... NBD! :D hahah. But really, it was the funniest thing ever! And then we had a new student bonfire/movie (Anchorman ughh) but the s'mores were good :). They also had the high ropes course throughout the day and at night but I didn't do it. Uhm yesterday (Sunday) was a major study day and we did a scavenger hunt for our dorm (find out the winners tonight), pretty sure I probably kissed like everything here at Butler lol (bonus points if you kissed something in the picture) but it's worth it cuz the winners get their unit t-shirt for free. I also got a late night (early morning- 215ish) visit from Gary :) it was nice to see a familiar face, I'm gonna miss him so much while he's in South Carolina :( hopefully he'll be back for christmas..  And now today starts the first full week of classes. So far so good, except for the fact that I accidentally missed my dog walking class :(. Other than that it has been laundry all day. First college laundry experience went as follows (keep in mind I live on the 3rd floor and the laundry is in the basement= 4 flights of stairs) : grabbed my laundry basket and the stuff needed to actually do laundry, half way down I realized I forgot my quarters- had to go back up, got all the way down and realized I grabbed stain remover and not detergent-had to go back up, went back down and started the wash- went back up while I waited for it to get done, went down to put them in the dryer and realized I forgot my quarters- had to go back up, took my laptop with me when I went down the last time while I waited for them do get done drying, and now I'm back up in my dorm. Talk about frustrating lol.

So now that I am done catching you all up on this past week, it's time for me to finish up some homework.

Last day in Wisconsin probably deserves a blog.

And it's official.. I am done with everything; the cars are packed up and I finished my goodbyes :(. Now all that's left is, well, leaving and I still don't think it has hit me yet.. maybe that's a good thing eh? Whatever, it'll hit me soon but until then I am going to stay as excited as I have been since.. well my first visit to Butler like two Marches ago lol. Anyways, back to goodbyes, they really suck, did you know that? At least they aren't forever.. but still, a few months feels like forever, even if they will probably fly by like nothing. And until then I will be missing everyone like crazy, which means all of you need to get a skype and send my your names so I can skype you orrr you can skype me, okay? :)

Well that's all for now, I should probably get some sleep since we're leaving bright and early tomorrow for our wonderful six and a half hour drive with Steph freaking out every other minute.. scratch that.. second. Soo goodnight all, there will be more coming once i get all settled in! :)

First of many?

Well I've decided to start a blog, obviously, so I can keep everyone updated while I'm away on my college adventure. :)  Yes, I'm still in Geebs but I figured I should give this thing a test run to see if I even like it or not. So I guess I'll just go ahead and start...

Well for those who don't know because they aren't Facebookers, I just got back from an amazing weekend down in the Dells with my even more amazing Shopko ladies! It was a great getaway from the hectic weeks of work/getting ready for college, but now I'm back to the real life reality of.. well, work and college. At least this is my last week of work at the always fantastic Shopko, sarcasm of course. I haven't quite decided if I'm happy about this or not, on the one hand I don't have to deal with the many annoying things at that hell hole of a store, but on the other hand it means no more working with my wonderful coworkers (most of them at least, I won't mention any names..). I guess there's always winter/summer breaks right? And then there's college shopping.. ughh it's never ending and so dang difficult! That's all I wanna say about it because it makes me frustrated, even if it is exciting, the whole moving out, starting a new chapter, ya know hahah. Again, mixed feelings as you can see... or read.

Alright that's all for now, I know, not a very exciting entry but I promise they'll get better so just bear with me! :D
